DH 910 Chipper

Overview | Gallery | Ask A Question

The DOPPSTADT DH 910 is used for the commercial production of chips in the cultivation of woods and forest stands and for re-using the resulting waste wood which can be transformed into energy-saving quality products. The DH 910 is capable of chipping these materials with trunk diameters up to 900 mm in case of soft wood and 680 mm in case of hard wood and reduce them to a defined chip size.

Frame

A robust steel construction with fixing points for drive unit, chipping tools and other components guarantee stability and a long service life. The design of the machine is such that in the front section the drive unit is located in a space-saving and nearly dust-free manner. The whole area is noise-insulated. The front section is designed as a feeding hopper for the material to be chipped. Reinforcements protect the side walls of the hopper against impact from wheel loaders or excavator buckets. Large, smooth-running sliding doors are installed at the sides.

Operation

The wood chipper is ready for operation within a few minutes. All controls are centralized in one control panel rendering operation of the machine easy and straightforward. There are emergency stop switches at the control panel and on both sides of the hopper ensuring an immediate cutoff in case of stop in case of eventual danger. A remote control allows controlled access to the most important functions from the wheel loader or excavator.

Remote controlled functions:

  • turn impeller blower
  • infeed on / off
  • control cast range
  • reverse infeed
  • lift infeed roller
  • engine stop, engine rev‘s + / -

Drive

The machine is driven by a Diesel engine DaimlerChrysler OM 502 LA, 448 KW/1800 rpm. The capacity is designed to cope with the demands of continuous service. The drive unit is equipped with an engine protector which, in the event of malfunction, switches off the engine thus preventing any damage. This is triggered through loss of hydraulic oil, when temperature of the coolant is too high, low engine oil pressure, dirty air filter and when a fuse is defective. The engine is switched off in case of overstraining by a turbo coupling with replaceable fuses and by a thermo switch. Power transmission to the chipping drum is carried out by V-belts. Hydraulic pumps located in the engine compartment supply the relevant control units and the hydraulic consumers. The fan of the combined radiator (water-charge air-oil cooler) is reversible thus permitting a regular automatic cleaning.

Material Feeding

The material is fed into the hopper by a grab. With the help of an aggressive, loaddepending feeding system (feed-in chain floor and roller), the material is transported to the chipping drum. The infeed rollers guarantee the introduction without problems of all kinds and shapes of wood.

Chipping Drum

Chipping is carried out by a drum consisting of a solid full steel construction. The chipping blades can easily be adjusted outside the machine by a blade adjustment gauge. The counterblade can easily and quickly be pulled out of the machine side. The lifted re-shredding screen and the rigid cutter bar achieve a homogeneous product. The grain size of the chips can quickly be regulated in the machine by chosing the suitable screening segments according to the current requirements.

Material Discharge

The chipped material is discharged by an integrated impeller blower with cast range adjustment.
